A Cause BrainRocket Believes in: A Large-Scale Limassol Clean-Up

0

On the 21st of June BrainRocket has joined forces with the municipality of Kato Polemidia and the City Friends Club to emphasize the importance of the environment we live in, by cleaning up and recycling the garbage across Limassol!

This is a serious issue that is very close to their hearts, so on the 4th of June 2022, they set off from the Kato Polemidia General Hospital to embark on a large-scale clean-up. Around 200 employees at BrainRocket and their families came together for this amazing cause and sent 91 bags of PMD rubbish for recycling, as well as getting rid of 3.78 tonnes of residual waste. In addition to the rubbish collected by volunteers during the clearing, the municipality of Kato Polemidia also removed 150 tonnes of rubbish in 2 week.

Through this collaboration, they are able to send out a call to action to everyone out there to come together to give a helping hand. They are also seeking to provide a message of encouragement and an understanding that no matter how dire the circumstances, no-one is alone and they are all in this together.

7 rules for coffee business meetings

0

Telling us all about coffee rules is 3F Gallery – premium home decor boutique in Limassol, Cyprus

Are there any rules for coffee business meetings? Although we do not think of them frequently, they do exist. By knowing these unwritten rules you will avoid a faux pas. We all know that good impression is all important – especially in business. Here are some tips for a formal meeting – what to do when we are offered a coffee or we want to serve it.

1. Espresso is served in a small thick-walled porcelain cup, so to lie well in hand and make you enjoying the coffee. To avoid infusion’s cooling down, the cup should be warm (heated) but not hot (it would burn lips). Cappuccino and latte are served in porcelain cups ranging from 150 up to 180 ml. Serving these drinks in glass is less elegant.

2. Coffee should be offered. If we are guests, we should wait to be asked what we would like to drink – then we are free to ask for a coffee. To avoid misunderstandings and maintain good impression, name precisely what kind of coffee you are thinking of.

3. The coffee spoon should lie on the saucer, on the right side, with the handle towards the guest. It should have contact with the surface of the saucer. Do not leave your spoon in the cup nor put it across the saucer or cup. Never lick the spoon, nor use it to try the infusion or cool it down.

4. Usually a coffee is served with something sweet. According to coffee gourmands, it should not be a sponge cake, for instance. Its too sugary and insipid taste do not fit coffee bitterness. Coffee pairs with dark chocolate square, biscuit – spiced or amaretti almond one.

5. No matter the season, espresso is served with a small glass of water. Sip the water to cleanse your palate from other tastes and fully enjoy your coffee.

6. Sometimes, a coffee served at a meeting was prepared earlier and is waiting for its amateurs in a thermo carafe. To enjoy it, you should stir it before pouring it into your cup – experts explain that invisible coffee molecules drop down and the infusion can not taste good if not stirred.

7. As for coffee drinks different than espresso, Italians do not order coffee with milk after 12 PM; however, it is not a strict rule. Although experts believe that quality coffee does not need any improvements, your individual preferences are important. No doubt that excellent coffee served in a proper cup, on a saucer with a crispy biscuit, will positively affect drinker’s mood.

Especially for you we’ve prepared a nice photo gallery of beautiful coffee cups. Fair warning: you’ll definitely want to have a coffee after seeing it.

Visit 3F Group Boutiques for a wonderful selection of coffee cups and so much more.

The EDIT Gallery: Stella Kapezanou with “Let them stare”

0

THE EDIT GALLERY is delighted to welcome back Stella Kapezanou for her second solo exhibition, entitled ‘Let Them Stare’.

Observing the work of Stella Kapezanou, we find ourselves looking voyeuristically through a keyhole, drunken from the colors of her canvases. In her artistic journey so far, she presents well-directed figures full of meaning and allusions, walking the line between fantasy and reality, consumerism and romance, like a transfer of the viewer in an erotic party of lavishing irony that never ends.

Nevertheless, in her solo exhibition hosted at The Edit Gallery in Cyprus, Kapezanou makes an unpredictable shift, from her impeccable directing with tableau vivant techniques and photorealism to a more sensitive, tender, and discreet form in its meanings. Skin, female curves, beasts and nudes, deify the power of female encouragement in Kapezanou’s world, removing the male figure and presence that we observed in her previous works. The artist reveals to the art-loving public another aspect of her artistic talent, maintaining her technically excellent painting qualities, incorporating collages but also presenting for the first-time ceramic sculptures.

The title of the exhibition is deafening, so evolving, so empowering and at the same time arrogantly charming: Let Them Stare.

About the artist

Stella Kapezanou was born in Athens, Greece. She received her ΜFA from the Athens School of Fine Arts (ASFA) where she was awarded an honorary scholarship by the State Scholarships Foundation (IKY). With the support of Motoroil Hellas scholarship, received her MA Fine Arts from Chelsea College of Arts, London, where she was awarded The Frank Bowling Scholarship. She is the recipient of The Clyde & Co Emerging Star Award 2017, The Cass Art Prize 2018 and a finalist for The Solo Show Award 2017, The Rise Art Prize 2018 and The ACS Studio Prize 2018. She has exhibited her work both in Greece and internationally.

Minus One performing at Cyprus Cup Final

0

Our friendship with Minus One (probably, one of the best Cyprus bands ever – no kidding!) started with their exclusive interview for Moi Ostrov after brilliant performance in the Eurovision Song Contest 2016. And just grew stronger ever since! Always a pleasure to see guys’ shows – whether it’s a rock bar gig or a cool outdoor concert. Great song selection, amazing performance and a really fun time guaranteed! Whoever hasn’t seen them in action, we strongly recommend to fix this right away! Follow Minus One and stay tuned for the band’s shows and make sure to attend one!

Another great band’s musical achievement happened last week, when Minus One performed at Cyprus Cup Final. Telling us all about it is Harrys Pari – Minus One’s guitarist and one of our personal favourites (just kidding (or not) – they are all great!).

Minus One has done ballrooms, beauty pageants, the Eurovision song contest, coffee festivals, dog shows, school shows, pool shows, and generally a hell of a crazy bunch of different kinds of shows. It was time to cross a football cup final off our list. So there!

This one was different… Although we’ve incorporated dancers in many occasions in the past, this was the first time we’d actually be part of the choreography, and Minus One never says no to a challenge or anything new…Well almost never, like this one time we were asked to perform naked, for example….Oh wait, we ended up doing that too! (Not as fun as you’d imagine).

So, now that you’ve got a naked Minus One out of your heads (or not) we must add that this was an unforgettable, trully unique experience. A lot goes into putting on a show like that and getting a great result, so you gotta love the process! And Minus One loved every minute of it!

See you at the next Minus One show!

Sexiest celebrity over 50, or 8 facts about stunning Kylie Minogue we bet you didn’t know

0

53-year-old Australian pop singer Kylie Minogue has been named the sexiest celebrity over 50. Hear! Hear! Voting took place on Our Time website and later shared with the Daily Mail. Inspired by this amazing show woman, we’ve prepared 8 facts about Kylie we bet you didn’t know.

  1. One of the biggest hits of all times “I should be so lucky” was composed in just 40 minutes. Rumor has it, that when Kylies was coming over to a meeting with Stock Aitken Waterman, music gurus forgot about the singer’s appointment and came up with this catchy song in like half an hour.
  2. “Spinning Around” wasn’t actually meant for Kylie. Paula Abdul co-wrote the song and was planning to perform it herself. Hmmm, as much as we love Kylie, we’d like to hear Paula’s version too!
  3. Minogue played in “Doctor Who”. Really? Oh, yes! She appeared in “Voyage of the Damned” episode in 2007.
  4. Famous Madame Tussauds Museum features not 1, not 2… but 4 (!!) Kylie Minogue’s waxworks.
  5. We bet you didn’t know that Kylie Minogue’s name means…boomerang in Aboriginal language. Surprising, huh?
  6. Kylie’s handsome boyfriend Paul Solomons is Creative Director in GQ magazine. Well done!
photo from people.com
  1. So many of Kylie’s iconic looks as well as general influence on her glamorous style were inspired by Jean Paul Gautier. World famous fashion designer and Minogue were always great friends.
  2. Charmingly sweet and beautifully petite Kylie is just 1,52 cm tall. Australian singer sometimes uses special steps or a box to stand behind a stand during award ceremonies. Adorable!
