Forbes magazine presented the list of the most “overpaid” celebrities.
They certainly get much, but how much do the film companies receive from their “star” participation?
The first place rightfully belongs to Adam Sandler. With every $ 1 spent on the production of the movie “Big Daddy” brings the companies only $ 3.40 , which, in Hollywood standards, is really modest. For example, two recent Sandler’s movies – ” Jack and Jill ” and “That’s my boy” – brought $150 million and $57 million respectively while cost on each of them was about $ 75 million.
Second place in the list of “unfairly highly paid” movie stars is taken by (ironically!) “One for the money” actress – Katherine Heigl, who brings her employers only $3.50 for each $1 paid. Latest pictures starring Katherine did not even recoup the cost of their production.
Third place features “Legally Blonde” Reese Witherspoon, who enriches film companies with $3.90 on each spent dollar.
Reese’s movie ” How Do You Know … ” collected three times less than was spent to create it, which added it to the list of the of the biggest movie-failures of 2010 .
Top ten list of Hollywood movie celebrities, earning “more than necessary” also includes: Nicolas Cage, Kevin James, Denzel Washington , Steve Carell, Jennifer Aniston, Matt Damon and Ryan Reynolds.
