Fikardos Winery was one of the first privately owned wineries to open in Cyprus. It was established by Mr. Theodoros Fikardos in 1990 and is currently located in Mesogi industrial area.<\/p>\n

Everything started from one man\u2019s passion and love about wine. Mr. Theodoros Fikardos was a restaurant owner and through his work learned to appreciate and enjoy good wines. His dream was to \u00a0one day become a winemaker. In 1985 Mr. Fikardos got married to Mrs. Elli. His wife had a small vineyard in Choulou village, this was the perfect opportunity for him to pursue his dream. He first started making wine at his grandfather\u2019s house, just a barrel of wine for the family, friends and customers. Without even realizing his winemaking journey had started. After a few years he officially founded the company and distributed his wines to other restaurants in Kato Paphos. In 1993 with the help of his family and friends he built a new state of the art winery at Mesogi village.<\/p>\n

Fikardos winery sources all of its grapes from Paphos. Paphos is one of the most important vine growing regions on the island. Almost half of the grapes produced on the island are cultivated here. With its suitable soil composition and its infinite sunshine, Paphos is blessed with being the ideal place to grow vines in perfection.<\/p>\n

At Fikardos Winery, vinification is carried out with care and with the use of modern equipment. The love, passion and skills at Fikardos Winery are key factors for the high quality wines produced.<\/p>\n

Fikardos Winery works in close cooperation with vine growers and always aims in selecting the best grapes for vinification. Besides working with international varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Mataro and Chardonnay the winery gives strong emphasis to Cypriot Indigenous varieties. We believe that Maratheftiko, Xinisteri, Giannoudi and any other Cypriot variety are Cyprus true signature.<\/p>\n

In 2010 Fikardos Winery established its own private vineyards at Pano Arodes and Choulou village with the predominant aim to cultivate Cypriot varieties Gannoudi, Maratheftiko, Xinisteri and Spourtiko. The majority of our vineyards are grown on limestone soil and trained using the cordon training system. Our vision is to produce wines that reveal Cyprus true character.<\/p>\n

In 2013 Fikardos Winery\u2019s Cabernet Sauvignon was awarded the Grand Gold Award at the Thessaloniki International Wine Completion. The Grand Gold award is granted only to the best wine of the competition. Over the last 25 years Fikardos Winery has been awarded several other Local and International awards for wines such as Amalthia, Shiraz, Leonardo and Valentina.<\/p>\n

You can buy our wines directly from our Winery in Mesogi, selected Cavas, and in most supermarkets.<\/p>\n

The winery is open for visits weekdays from 8:00 \u2013 17:00, Saturday from 8:00 \u2013 13:00. Visitors can have a free winetasting and tour of our winery. Reservations are only needed if the number of people exceeds 10.<\/p>\n
