On the Other Side of the Lense – EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW Model Ksenia Zaytseva

Model Ksena Zaytseva, she is a runway star, the first thing that strikes you about Ksenia is, of course, her face. It has those perfect angles, the sharp, sculpted ones that seem to be prerequisite for becoming a model. But before you can even process the rest of her otherworldly appearance-her flawless ivory complexion, her piercing blue eyes, her slim yet towering frame-you sense there’ s a certain depth to her, something a bit more complex. Ksenia gave us this wonderful interview, and chance to see what goes on in her life on the “other side of the lense”:

Name: Ksenia Zaytseva

Age: 17

Nationality: Russian

HomeTown: VoronezhRussia

Agency: Freelance

SJ: Tell me about your first year as a model was is something you thought about doing from before? What were the most exciting moments and not so exciting ones in the beginning?

K.Z: It’s been like one year and some months since I started modelling. I never thought of doing something like that until I found an agency on the internet and filled an application form. From the moment they contacted me I started doing photoshoots and fashion shows. After one year I left the agency and started working as a freelance model. I did many photoshoots for top magazines like Omikron, Beautiful People, Must and others. I also participated on fashion shows of many designers like Gregory Morfi, Natalie C, Fani Xenofontos and others. Every moment was and still is for me unique and exciting. I can’t find a moment that was less or not exciting.

SJ: You are very on demand right now, it’ s like every page turning editorial your in it! What about when your about to walk the runway, the music is booming, the people are waiting for the show to start anxious to see their favourite designer’s collection,  did you ever get butterflies before a show, or do you ever get nervous? What advice would you have for new models who are trying to overcome their first time jitters?

KZ: I only got butterflies and was a little bit nervous when I first started modelling but now I only feel excitement and confidence. My advice for the new models is to believe in their selves and use the bad criticism as a tool to get better at what they are doing.

SJ: Now I know that you are currently freelance though, have you ever considered to belonging to an agency again like you did in the beginning , do you think it is important for a model to have a cooperative relationship with his or her mother agency?

KZ: I never had a special relationship with my agency. That is also the reason I decided to work as a freelance model.

SJ: Well I think for a freelance model you have done really well. Did you ever struggle with your body image?

KZ: Only in the beginning!

SJ:  Do you have any model friends how’s your relationship with them when competing for the same designer’s show? Is there jealousy?

KZ:I believe this is very important to have friends,   a lot of my closest friends are those who are working with me, I mean more of my friends are models and no I don’t think about jealousy, because I never try to compete with others.

SJ: What is next for you? Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

KZ: Actually I don’t know yet, Im thinking to be Geneticist (biologist who studies genetics, the science of genes), but in the meantime for this, I will see in the future.

SJ:  What is the most important piece of advice would you give to a fellow teenage model starting a career?

K.Z: As I have said above believe in their selves. Try to stand with the best reviews and picking the right of all that you previously did and be kind to yourself.

SJ: Since you’re a pro at doing this, what are some tips to taking a great photo?

KZ: Just feel it…There is no way to become something you’re not. There is no ways to achieve something if you don’t want it.

SJ:  So Ksenia tell us how you stay so gorgeous, do you have a skin care routine? and how do you stay in shape?

K.Z: Only during the summer do I very simply protect the skin, I think we are at an age where nature does it all by itself.

SJ: So that is why everybody calls you a “natural beauty”, lastly how would you define your personal style?

K.Z: I can’t define it yet because I’m searching for it and I try on everything  that is “in” fashion at the moment, from simple street style to something elegant.

A very special thank you to star Model Ksenia Zaytseva who may be the sweetest model I’ ve ever talked to, it was truly a pleasure you can’t deny this when this girl’s got brains, beauty and mile-long legs she is the person you want to have in front of you when your having a grey day, one more model who I’ m positive will be in the new generation of super models.
